Dr. Mark grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biology. His fascination with anatomy and biology helped him make the decision to study chiropractic. He graduated from National College of Chiropractic in 1982, after which he taught anatomy there for two years. He opened Grothman Clinic in 1984 with his wife Dr. Marité. In addition to adjusting, Dr. Mark continues to study clinical nutrition. His focuses include patient education and treating personal injuries from car accidents.
Dr.Marité grew up in the South of France, where she earned a degree in nursing. She continued studying psychology and nutrition, and finally decided to pursue a career in chiropractic. After 1 1/2 years of studying in England, she moved to Lombard, Illinois, where she met Dr. Mark. She graduated fro; National College of Chiropractic with him in 1982. Dr. Mark and she opened up Grothman Clinic in 1984. Dr Marité specializes in nutrition, energy work, and family practice. She is fluent in both French and Spanish.
At the age of two and a half years old, Alexander began playing tennis. Over the next 14 years he played, and at the age of 16 years old was one of the top ranked juniors in the country. With his French roots, he decided to go to chiropractic school in Paris. He graduated from IFEC (Institut Franco-Europeen de Chiropratique) in 2014. Today, Dr. Alexander joined his parents Dr. Mark and Dr. Marite in their practice bringing with him new techniques he learned while studying chiropractic, and attending many seminars.
